Born and raised in London and now based in Berkshire, Addela McKenzie is a designer whose work celebrates individuality, craftsmanship, and confidence. With a degree in Fashion and Textiles and a deep passion for garment construction, Addela's journey into fashion began with a simple desire — to create something uniquely her own.

Her story began at the age of sixteen, when her mother enrolled her in evening sewing classes to learn industry-standard pattern-making techniques. What began as a practical skill soon became a creative outlet and a passion that would shape her future.

The beginning

People noticed.

Addela initially began making clothes for herself — particularly jackets and blazers. Finding outerwear that fit perfectly was always a challenge, especially with longer arms, so she started designing pieces tailored to her own proportions. The result was beautifully structured jackets that stood apart.

Compliments quickly turned into requests. Friends and acquaintances began asking if she could create pieces for them too. What started as personal experimentation gradually evolved into something more.

And so, Addela McKenzie was born.

Part of the inspiration for the brand came from personal frustration. Finding clothing that felt truly different was difficult — the same styles appeared everywhere, and individuality often felt lost. Rather than settle for blending in, Addela began designing garments that stood apart.

Each piece is created with intention — designs that feel distinctive while remaining timeless. Much of Addela's inspiration comes from architecture. The clean lines, structure, and balance found in buildings influence the silhouettes and construction of her garments. Like architecture, every piece is carefully built, where structure meets creativity.
